A Journey to Deeper Wellbeing

During our time together you will be guided through a holistic wellness assessment, giving you space to take stock of where you are physically, emotionally, socially, vocationally, spiritually, and financially. Through self-reflection, deep listening, time in nature, journaling, and small group experiences, you will clarify what’s most important to you in this season of life. You’ll have the opportunity to craft a personalized action plan, so you can integrate your goals into your weekly life. This is Continuing Medical Education for the soul

Day 1 Welcome, Overview

Welcome to Minam Lodge, your home for our time together, a place that will excite and support you on your wellness journey. Get to know your fellow travelers as we set the stage for our journey of reflection, rest, and play.

Day 2 Physical Health

Today is a time to focus on your Physical Health. You will explore your patterns of sleep, diet, exercise, and how you're attending to your healthcare needs. You will also consider the ways you can optimize your physical wellness.

You will have hours of free time throughout the day to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are plenty of ways to stay active: yoga, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, white water rafting, or swimming in the river.

Day 3 Social Health

Today you will be reflecting on your Social Health, considering the state of your most important relationships, bringing more awareness to your relational circles of family, friends, colleagues, and community. You’ll consider the ways you enjoy socializing, celebrating special occasions and holidays, taking vacations, and spending time with friends. You’ll explore how cultivating strong and healthy relationships affects your overall health.

Relationships and emotional life go hand in hand. You’ll be dipping into your Emotional Health, reflecting on the emotional tone within your relationships and how your communication style affects others. You’ll have space to reflect on how you're handling and processing difficult emotions, voicing your authentic feelings and needs, and where areas of harmony and tension exist.

Day 4 Vocational & Financial Health

It’s time to take an honest look at your job satisfaction, areas that are going well and are enjoyable, and aspects that are burdensome and in need of adjustment. You will discover the strengths of Job Crafting and how to creatively apply it to your career. Work and finances are integrally joined, and you will have space to reflect on your financial fundamentals: income, expenditures, debts, goals, and money-based beliefs.

Day 5 Spiritual & Emotional Health

You will wade into some deep waters, as you consider how you can create deeper meaning in your life and live with a vibrant sense of purpose and joy. You will learn more about the role of self-compassion when facing challenges and setbacks and how the art of letting go begins with letting in. You will discover what medicine as a spiritual practice can look like, and how to reduce compassion fatigue.

Day 6

Putting it all together, integrating and implementing at-home, group, and coaching support.

Minam River Lodge

Minam Lodge combines pristine nature, exquisite cuisine, and stunning architecture. This is a place to ease into your day as you relax on your porch with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and take in the beauty of nature: birds singing, the sweet smell of fir, cedar and pine, the gentle burble of the Minam river. Breakfast is a chance to enjoy a beautifully prepared meal as you plan your day; which hike to embark on, the perfect time for your massage or a long sauna session punctuated with cold plunges into the river!

A big part of the Minam experience is the warmth and gracious hospitality of the staff. They are always eager to help with planning your activities, making travel arrangements and answering any questions that arise along the way.

Journing to Minam Lodge is an adventure in and of itself. It can only be accessed by hiking 8.5 miles by foot, on horseback, or via small plane. The hike is scenic, passing through forest, along the river with plenty of valley views. If you choose to hike in to the lodge, please take into account that you will be backpacking in with all of your clothing and personal items for your stay.

If you access the lodge by small plane, the Minam staff can help arrange a short, but extraordinary flight, gliding amid dozens of 9,000-foot granite peaks and glaciated valleys of the Wallowa Mountains. Your landing strip is a grassy mountain meadow alongside the wild, trout-laden Minam River. However you arrive, a warm welcome awaits at your wilderness hideaway.

Minam River lodge is a place to rest and reflect, play and reconnect with yourself and others. You will share in the beauty of the Oregon wilderness, unplug from civilization and create magical memories! If walking in nature, gourmet, farm-to-table meals and relaxing by the river are your happy place, then Minam Lodge is calling your name. Let the adventures begin!

The Cuisine:

Under the culinary direction of head chef Claire, the team dream up dishes based on what’s growing in their organic garden and greenhouse. Get ready to delight in creative, fresh, and delicious food, you are in for a spectacular treat.

Breakfast is a relaxing and social affair, as guests plan their day and sip a cup of locally roasted coffee on the deck and enjoy a plate of German pancakes with a local huckleberry compote or a garden scramble with a side of house bacon from their own smokehouse. A light breakfast is also on offer, which might feature house-made yogurt and granola.

Lunch might feature a salad from our wilderness garden, which is nourished by a wild spring high in the hills across the river. The garden and timber-frame greenhouse produce an abundance of sustainably farmed greens, herbs, and vegetables just a short stroll down from the Lodge.

Dinner is a nightly family-style feast, composed of elements from the garden and small local ranches. It’s not uncommon for the team to highlight wild-foraged morel or chanterelle mushrooms.

Here is an example of a recent dinner:

  • Salad of morning-picked greens, shaved cucumber, sugar snap peas, peaches, ground cherries, basil, mint, borage, rosé vinaigrette

  • “Flo” house sourdough bread with house-cultured butter

  • Roasted garden zucchini & banana peppers, shaved hakurei turnips, baby kale, turnip leaf & wild nettle pistou, slow-cooked cherry tomato, parmigiano reggiano

  • Creamy cheddar cheese curd grits, smoked & grilled foraged chanterelles

  • Brown sugar-brined Carman Ranch pork porterhouse steaks, charred onion mostarda

  • Olive oil cake, lemon curd, rosemary oil

The Lodge offers a full bar featuring wilderness-curated cocktails, local beers on tap and regional and international wines from our eco-wine cellar, which is cooled by osmosis using underground pipes.
